Lalita Sakhi, the chief among the sakhis of Srimati
Radharani, resides eternally in the radiant Lalitanandada Kunja, located on the
northern petal of Ananga-sukhada Kunja, a grove dazzling like lightning and
covered in fragrant blossoms. Her complexion glows with the brilliance of
gorocana (bright yellow pigment), and her garments shimmer like the feathers of
a peacock, reflecting her playful yet commanding nature. Known for her sharp
wit and loving sternness, Lalita is of the vama-prakhara temperament, quick to
speak up in Srimati Radharani’s defense. Her primary seva is offering camphor
and tambula to Sri Krishna and managing the intimate affairs of the Divine
Couple. She embodies the emotional state of khandita-nayika, the heroine
angered by her lover's misbehavior. Aged 14 years, 8 months, and 27 days, she
is the daughter of Visoka and Sarada, and her earthly husband is Bhairava Gopa.
In Gaura-lila, she appears as Sri Svarupa Damodara Goswami, the confidential
associate and personal secretary of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, who preserved the deepest moods of Sri Radha.
